GL:  Tell us a little about you and your business.

TDW:  We are an award-winning, full-service advertising and communications agency with locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle. We are dedicated to reaching today’s diverse audience, including non-English speaking and historically underserved communities.

We provide culturally relevant and creative solutions to connect to diverse audiences. What we do extends beyond the traditional norms of community engagement and outreach. With a focus on digital, social, and experiential marketing, we offer five lines of capabilities: 1) brand + strategy, 2) creative + production, 3) media + interactive, 4) experiential + outreach, and 5) research + insights. We also have the capacity to create in more than 35 languages.

GL:  Tell us a little about your clients.

TDW: Examples of our clients include the U.S. Census Bureau, the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and U.S. Bank.

GL:  What’s your favorite part of what you do?

TDW: Creating meaningful dialogue that inspires communities to make the world a better place.

GL:  What were some challenges you faced along the way?

TDW:  Opening three offices across the nation has been exciting, but challenging as we’ve experienced our share of growing pains. It’s been a learning process as the company evolved from a start-up mentality to a maturing organization. It has been an instinct for us to try to do everything ourselves, but we’ve learned that there is tremendous value to bring in the subject-matter experts, such as Gouchev Law. Not only is it so much more efficient to hire companies like yours who are skilled in what you do, but also we can be confident that things are done accurately, especially when it comes to navigating through the complexities legal matters.  

GL:  Can you share a little about what we did for you and how it helped?

TDW:  We reached out to Gouchev Law to help us navigate our New York operations when it comes to business law and regulations. Multi-state operations are complex as there are different rules so we needed an expert in business law to make sure that we were above board and compliant .

GL:  What made you choose out Gouchev Law?

TDW:  We chose Gouchev Law because of its accessible location in midtown Manhattan and stellar reviews. Since our main office is located on the other side of the country it was important to have a highly rated legal team that was also easily accessible to our local team. I also felt really comfortable with the firm just from the initial consultation with Jana Gouchev.

GL:  How has your experience been working with the firm?

TDW:  Experience has been great so far. The time spent has really helped us feel confident about our New York operations. Since lawyers bill by the minute you can feel rushed, but with Gouchev Law I don’t feel that way. I feel like my concerns are heard and appreciated and that we are a team.

GL:  What is one important thing you’ve learned along the way that makes a big difference?

TDW:  Don’t try to save money by doing it all yourselves. Leave the complicated stuff like law to the experts – It’s so helpful to have Gouchev Law help provide consulting and direction.

GL:  We know only good things are to come for TDW+Co. Can you share a sneak peek what’s in store for the next couple of years?

TDW:  We are proud to be part of the team that is handling the Integrated Communications Contract for Census 2020. The U.S. Census, mandated by the U.S. Constitution to take place every 10 years, is an important population count that impacts decisions on the federal level such as funding, infrastructure, and districting. TDW+Co’s role is to reach Asian Americans, engaging them to complete the Census.
