Somya has first hand experience in innovation, technology and startups, which gives her a large advantage as an attorney. She is passionate about helping startups and small businesses maneuver through the landscape of law, business, and capital financing.
In fact Somya travels across the country to speak on these topics, specifically entrepreneurship, start-ups and pitching to investors. She will be speaking at MIT and the LegalGeek Conference in London in 2017.
Somya focuses on start up law, corporate law, employment law, and intellectual property. Somya represents clients in the US and internationally in securities transactions. She has represented well-known startups on issues such as employment and labor law, corporate governance and restructurings, as well as equity and debt investment capital financings.

Background & Education
Somya previously served as the associate general counsel for a strategic consulting company focusing on large commercial real estate development in the greater New York area. She also worked at the United Nations and on Capitol Hill with the U.S. Indian Political Action Committee.
Somya received her B.A. from The George Washington University and her J.D. from New York Law School. She studied International Law at The London School of Economics. She is admitted to practice law in New York, and is admitted in both the Southern District of New York (SDNY) and the Eastern District of New York (EDNY).
