Kelsey Monaghan is a tenacious litigator and skilled negotiator. She concentrates her practice on complex commercial matters as well as debtor/payment demand issues, representing corporations, mid-size businesses, and individuals in a broad range of litigation matters. Kelsey has had extensive litigation experience, trying numerous cases to verdict or judgment in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Her experience ranges from winning success payment demand litigations, to piercing the corporate veil, to criminal defense, to fraud.
Kelsey draft motions and memoranda of law, in both state and federal court, involving highly complex and technical legal arguments including motions for summary judgement, motions in limine, and opposition papers to ensure favorable court rulings and facilitate high settlements in favor of her clients. Kelsey’s focus is on developing case strategies utilizing winning litigation tactics to highlight her client’s case’ strengths and minimize potential weaknesses’ in a court analysis.
Background & Education
Kelsey is admitted to practice law in New York, D.C., and Florida. Before moving to New York, Kelsey was an Assistant Public Defender in the 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida. As lead counsel, Kelsey has tried twenty jury trials and thirty-five bench trials to verdict. She has taken hundreds of depositions and has both written and argued numerous substantive motions in court.
