Chris represents SMBs and early-stage companies in the areas of investment capital / private equity financing, general securities law and compliance, M&A and corporate general counsel. Chris brings deep tech startup expertise to his practice, from supporting founders with cap table models and dilution scenarios. He advises high-growth companies and investors on securities law and financings from seed and Series rounds to IPO, navigating complex regulations with precision and strategic foresight.

Chris is a 2x co-founder and was an early employee at NLand Surf Park, a venture-backed surf technology company in Austin, Texas.

Background & Education

Chris began his legal career as a white-collar defense attorney at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in Washington, D.C. Before law school, he worked as a news anchor and political journalist in Iowa. Chris received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and is licensed in the state of California and Washington DC.
