She works with technology, communications, media, and professional services companies on a variety of strategic and operational matters. Her practice includes corporate law, intellectual property, technology law, insurance law, and general complex commercial transactions. For the past two decades, Maria has held in-house corporate counsel positions at three Fortune 500 companies.
Maria has extensive experience with preparing and negotiating software licensing and SaaS subscription agreements, intellectual property licensing, marketing and sponsorship, content and trademark licenses, and development agreements. She has a deep understanding of business operations and is a dynamic negotiator involving all areas of technology law, with a substantial part of her practice focusing on global transactions.
Maria also represents clients on business deals and strategic considerations involving the commercialization of intangible rights and related products and services, including licenses, R&D agreements, services agreements, and other commercial arrangements.

Background & Education
Before joining Gouchev Law, Maria worked for six years as senior corporate counsel at Accenture. Prior to that, she was Assistant General Counsel at Accion International, and before that, she was in-house counsel at Chubb. Maria received her J.D. from the University of Salvador, where she graduated with honors and an LL.M from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She is licensed to practice in New York.
