Meet Vanessa

Vanessa helps clients develop, protect, and enforce their intellectual property portfolios across industries, including technology, sports, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and real estate. Her work spans the full lifecycle of brand protection, from trademark searches and clearances and registration to licensing, enforcement, and dispute resolution. She has extensive experience in licensing, marketing, sponsorship, co-existence, supply, distribution, technology, and vendor agreements, as well as advising on IP-related provisions in broader commercial contracts.

Vanessa has helped businesses at every stage protect their brands and manage IP risk on a global scale. She previously led trademark and brand integrity programs for customs recordation and anti-counterfeiting initiatives to complex global enforcement actions and IP litigation management.

Clients appreciate Vanessa’s collaborative style, creative thinking, and skill in balancing innovation with protection. Vanessa has served on the Board of Directors for the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC) and contributed to key committees within the International Trademark Association (INTA).

Background and Education

Vanessa held in-house IP counsel roles at Adidas and Apple. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Gonzaga University School of Law, and her B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
